Hydrogen offering

Gaseous hydrogen
Colours and purities

We supply you with a wide range of hydrogen products. We cover the entire value chain from production and transport to customer supply systems.

Our value chain for your secured hydrogen supply

Tyczka Hydrogen produces and supplies pressurised gaseous hydrogen from a broad network of sources for its customers in Germany, Austria and beyond. We cover the full range of products: grey and green hydrogen in various qualities, purities and pressure levels. If you want to buy hydrogen or have it produced by us on site - then you've come to the right place!

Our value chain covers the entire H2 supply. Our production sites, supplemented by a wide range of co-operations with partners, represent an optimal source network for hydrogen.

In addition to supplying customers directly on site using our electrolysis plants in the operator model, we also focus on filling and transporting hydrogen using a continuously growing fleet of trailers. Thanks to our many years of expertise, the individual components interlock perfectly and thus deliver a broad portfolio of customised customer solutions from a single source.

Hydrogen in different quality levels

Depending on customer requirements, we supply gaseous hydrogen in qualities from 3.0 to 5.0. The current industry standards determine the purity and the maximum permissible proportion of secondary components (nitrogen, oxygen, water, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other hydrocarbons).

Hydrogen 3.7/FC is suitable for fuel cells in accordance with national and international specifications and can be used as a fuel in the mobility sector.

Good to know

Regular analyses are carried out on all sources to check and certify the product quality. The availability of purities is sometimes regionally limited. Special qualities are available on request.

Green hydrogen from Tyczka

In addition to hydrogen from fossil energy sources (so-called grey hydrogen), we also offer green hydrogen: produced using electricity from renewable energy sources.

How is green hydrogen delivered?

  • Direct physical delivery: from a production plant that uses only electricity from renewable energy sources.
  • Mass balanced delivery: from a production plant that uses electricity from renewable energy sources (the green hydrogen physically purchased from a production plant is allocated to a customer on a calculatory basis).
  • Book-and-claim accounting: by cancelling guarantees of origin for green hydrogen (GOs) from production facilities that use electricity from renewable energies and from which we do not necessarily physically purchase hydrogen (in this case, certification is always carried out by an external certifier)

Good to know

The operators of the hydrogen production plants guarantee that green electricity is used to produce the respective quantities of hydrogen.

Some of the plants from which we obtain green hydrogen are to be certified by external certification bodies in future (e.g. in accordance with the TÜV Süd CMS70 ‘Green Hydrogen’ standard).

Our production sites

We develop, build and operate our own sites for hydrogen production using electrolysis. This creates a broad network of production sites that guarantees an optimal and secure supply for our customers. We are continuously developing new production facilities at suitable locations. This network is supplemented by other sources from our partners.

Our plants
In addition to electrolysis, our production plants also consist of a range of other components such as water treatment, compressors and buffer storage tanks.

Good to know
A typical plant with an electrical electrolysis capacity of 10 MW has the following specifications:

  • Annual production capacity: 700-1,300 tonnes of H2 (at capacity utilisation of 4,000-7,000 h/a)
  • Fresh water consumption: approx. 2.5 m³/h
  • Waste water: approx. 1 m³/h (the wastewater only has a higher concentration of the minerals as in the fresh water; it is therefore harmless and suitable for further use)
  • Oxygen by-product: approx. 1,000 Nm³/h (suitable for various applications on site, e.g. sewage treatment plant)
  • Waste heat: approx. 2-3 MWh/h at 45-60°C (suitable for local heat supply, e.g. via heat pump)
